April 30, 2010 - I am very pleased to announce that historic photographs of the Cornish mansion and estate have surfaced, ending years of mystery in the Hudson Valley for those of us who wondered how the house and grounds appeared before falling to ruin. May 9, 2009 - Sadly I share the news that Peter Oley, Village of Irvington Historian, teacher, and friend of Hudson Valley Ruins, passed away April 11, 2009. I've shared a photo and some more information about "Mr. Oley" here.

February 12, 2009 - Although I have been out shooting the ruins quite a bit, in New York and elsewhere, I haven't updated this site recently. I have, however, updated my non-ruins photography website, especially with images of Shea Stadium, Citi Field and some other parks.

November 20, 2008 - Added Heritage Park, the minor league baseball stadium in Colonie (suburban Albany).

September 16, 2008 - Added Fort Slocum, Davids Island, the now-demolished ruins of military installation in New Rochelle, abandoned in the 1960s.

November 25, 2005 - Added General Electric, Hudson Falls. This is the first of forthcoming updates for the "Northway" region, beyond the traditionally accepted boundary of the Hudson Valley. 

November 23, 2005 - Several of my photographs of the Yonkers Power Station are included in an exhibit at the Yonkers Public Library - Riverfront Branch. "Yonkers: Then and Now," presented by Blue Door Art Gallery and The Yonkers Historical Society opened  November 20, 2005 and runs until January 8, 2006. The exhibit is open regular library hours: Monday through Thursday 9 AM to 8 PM; Friday 10 AM to 5 PM; Saturday 9 AM to 5 PM; and Sunday 12 Noon to 5 PM. The Library is located at One Larkin Center, across from the Yonkers Metro North Railroad Station. For further information, call (914) 337-1500.
