INFRARED AND FALSE -COLOR IMAGES

These images were taken with an infrared filter which allows very little light into the camera lens, resulting in images that last about 25-30 seconds (at ISO 100 and f/9 or f/11) in full daylight. The long exposure turns people into ghosts - here Thom Johnson surveys the ruins of Bannerman's Caste in March 2010.

The first image on this page is what a true infrared picture looks like,
but sometimes I prefer a false-color image adjusted in photoshop.

Or sometimes no color at all, as black-and-white looks great too.

This image and those that follow were taken in August of 2010 and
show more sensitivity from the foliage otherwise absent in the late winter images above.
