PARKS AND WOOLSON COMPANY
Springfield, Vermont

Parks and Woolson, manufacturer of woolen cloth finishing machinery, is both the oldest existing manufacturing complex and the last major mill to operate in Springfield. The mill closed in October 2003, leaving 14 workers unemployed. Located at 33 Park Street, the complex includes the original 3 1/2 story brick, gable-roofed mill built in 1829. The mill was remodeled in 1859 and expanded and remodeled again in 1877, 1910 and 1914.
