Briarcliff Lodge - April, 2004

First Tee.
The top of this structure was the first tee of the original 9-hole Briarcliff Lodge golf course. The fairway was the hillside east towards Dalmeny Road. The course then went north, circled behind Central Drive over to Briarcliff Road, and returned to the Lodge near the outdoor swimming pool. In 1923 an 18-hole course extending northeast across what is now Route 9A was built. The 9-hole course then became the practice course. The structure houses electrical equipment.
