This mansion on North Lander Street is attributed to the architect Frederick Clarke Withers, who worked with Downing & Vaux and who is considered one of the finest architects of the High Victorian period. Withers' most noted work is probably the Jefferson Market Courthouse in New York's Greenwich Village.
